Principles of Horticulture

Welcome to this page which provides supplementary materials building on the contents of the book ‘Principles of Horticulture’ Edition 8.

The topics included on the Support Website are either extensions of subjects covered in the book at essentially Level 2 or taking the subject in the book to related areas of Level 3. It is important that if you are using the book and the website to prepare for a forthcoming assessment that you consult the appropriate  syllabus to guide you.

The topics covered on this website are to be found grouped according to related chapter in the book, for example the topics on plant propagation can be found
either in Chapter 5 (‘Vegetative Propagation of Plants’, ‘Grafting’, and ‘Micropropagation’ along with related illustrative material),
or Chapter 6 (‘Propagation of Plants from Seeds’ along with related illustrative material about ‘Seed Collection’, ‘Sowing Seeds Indoors’ and ‘Fern Propagation’.

The tutor section contains most of the illustrations in the book for use in the classroom.
